Ananda Midwest

Welcome!  Ananda Midwest is part of a global spiritual movement called Ananda Sangha Worldwide. Founded in 1969 by Swami Kriyananda, a direct disciple of Paramhansa Yogananda, Ananda is committed to helping people live in Joy.

Ananda Midwest is also a collection of Ananda meditation groups and teachers from St. Louis, Cincinnati, Evansville, and Michigan who join together yearly for a spring retreat in a central Midwest location.  This year we invite you to join us for our Living Yoga Retreat, May 3-5, 2018, in Mt. St. Francis, Indiana.

Explore Ananda

We encourage you to Explore Ananda where ever you may live, through contacting meditation groups/centers/communities, and/or seeking out Ananda Yoga and Ananda Meditation teachers.  We also provide a list of Ananda Retreat Resources if you would like to take a spiritual adventure within the United States or internationally.

If you are unable to attend retreats or events in person, we have various resources to explore, including an online community and classes, free apps, social media, meditation courses, regular meditation newsletter, books, videos, and Ananda music and chanting to keep you inspired and connected to truth-seeking friends everywhere.

Based on the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda, Ananda offers not just teachings and techniques, but love, friendship and support on the path to self-realization. The wisdom of our line of teachers/masters/gurus embrace every aspect of the human experience showing us how we can spiritualize each and every moment. From peace, calmness and stress-free living to the lofty peaks of self-realization, the teachings from the path of Kriya Yoga are for everyone.
